Philippine Efficient Lighting Market Transformation Project (PELMATP)
"Palit-Ilaw na, Tipid na, Environment-friendly pa!"

The Philippine Efficient Lighting Market Transformation Project (PELMATP) is a five-year project of the Department of Energy with the support from the Global Environment Facility through the United Nations Development Programme. The 5-year project will end on December 31, 2009.

The Project aims to address the barriers to the widespread utilization of energy efficient lighting (EEL) systems in the Philippines in order to reduce energy consumption and reduce the corresponding greenhouse gas emissions to the environment.

Over the five-year project implementation, an aggregate savings of 2,704 Gwh is expected, equivalent to 21% reduction relative to the Philippine energy efficient scenario from year 2003. The equivalent GHG emission reduction is about 497 Gg of CO2 equivalent.

The following are just some of the many achievements of PELMATP. Energy practitioners, the academe, NGOs, government agencies and other stakeholders can download the following documents:

  • Guidelines on Energy Conserving Design on Buildings (2008)
  • Roadway Lighting Guidelines (2008)
  • Administrative Order No. 183
  • EEL Training Modules to School Curricula (For College and Universities)
  • EEL Training Modules to School Curricula (Vocational Schools)
  • Lamp Waste Management Guidebook
  • Lamp Waste Management Procedural Guideline
  • Lamp Waste Management Info-Poster
