Why Biofuels? |
economic
Biofuels are produced from agricultural crops grown in the Philippines. Increased consumption of biofuels creates new markets for Philippine farm products, creates new jobs in rural communities and keeps money circulating throughout the domestic economy. Producing a percentage of our fuel at home also reduces our dependence on foreign oil and increases our national energy independence. |
renewable
The energy contained in petroleum-based fuels and the energy contained in biofuels come from the same source: the sun, but timing is everything. . .
Petroleum reserves required million of years to form, but annual plants--the main crops for producing biofuels--act like seasonal batteries, providing a constant supply of energy with each new growing season. |
powerful
Biofuels also increase the performance of your engine. Biodiesel is a "premium" diesel fuel that cleans your fuel system, improves engine lubricity and reduces particulate emissions, all of which help to extend the life of your diesel equipment. |
healthy
Fossil fuels contain complex, toxic compounds, but biodiesel, refined from pure vegetable oil, contains only simple organic compounds that are non-toxic and biodegradable, making it safe to store and handle. Using biodiesel in place of petroleum diesel also decreases carbon dioxide emissions (greenhouse gases) by nearly 80%. |
