| The Philippines
is currently pursuing intensive efforts on investment promotion, stimulated
by the growing need to secure long-term investments that can drive
economic stability, growth and sustainability in the country.
The Deregulation of the Downstream Oil Industry, the Republic Act
9136 Electric Power Industry Reform Act (EPIRA), Contracting Rounds
for the petroleum, geothermal and coal sectors, the Departments'
policy for energy independence, among others, lead to a number of
prospects for private sector participation in the energy sector.
The Investment Promotion Office (IPO) initiated the creation of
this page to provide information on the investment opportunities
in the energy sector and the investment requirements from 2005 to
2014, energy projects for private sector participation, existing
incentives, presentation materials during the energy investment
forum and other relevant data.
The IPO serves as the Department's "One-Stop-Shop" to
address energy investors' concerns and queries, disseminate investment
information, encourage private sector participation and investment
opportunities, and provide investor servicing.
DOE-IPO is a member of the Investment Promotion Unit Network established
by the Board of Investments to ensure close coordination among government
agencies and to facilitate resolution of investor's concerns particularly
on the energy sector.
