Engine

Check cleanliness of air cleaner and change oil periodically. Without an air cleaner, ring wear shoots up 115 times.
Clean and adjust carburetor properly.
Check if there is no excessive noise or difficulty in engaging gears.
Steering

Electrical

Always check if your battery, alternator, voltage regulator and fan belt are in good working condition.
Ensure that wiring and connections to distributor and spark plugs, contact breaker points and condenser are in good condition and the point gap is all right.
Fuel tank and lines
Check all fuel line connections for loss of fuel due to leakage or evaporation.
Have the fuel pump checked for correct pressure every three months.

Brakes
Ensure that brakes do not drag / bind.
Check the linings / pads, drums / discs to ensure that they are not worn out.
Radiator
Check radiator water level daily.
When engine is hot, top up radiator water with the engine on.
