GHG FORECAST FOR THE ENERGY SECTOR

As stated earlier, the GHG emissions in the energy sector come largely from fuel combustion. The projected CO2 emissions from the three main fuel sources, coal oil and gas are expected to double from the 63,100 ktons to 117,700 ktons in 2009 (Table 7). These fuel sources shall continue to dominate the current and projected energy mix of the country.
