MEDIA GUIDELINES

Media Registration

• Only accredited journalists will be allowed to cover the Energy Summit. A valid Identification Card must be presented for Media registration.

• Media registration will start on January 23, 2008. Registration will also be available starting at 7:30 am on January 29, 30, 31 and February 5 at the lobby of the SMX Convention Center.

• Summit ID’s will be provided to registered journalists. This must be worn with their valid Media ID’s at all times while in the premises of the convention center.


Media Center

• The Media Center will be in Meeting room 8.

• The Media Center will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., January 29 to 31and February 5, 2008.

• ?The Media Center will be equipped with fax machines, telephone lines,
10 desk top computers with Internet access, wireless connections for laptops and a copying machine.

• A Media Relations Desk will be located at the third floor lobby.

• Please do not leave your belongings unattended in the Media Center. The organizers will not be responsible for any lost item.


Press Conference Room

• Please note that the Press Conference Room will be at Meeting room 7.

• Schedule of Press Conferences will be posted at the Media Center.

Documents

• All press releases, speeches, background documents, reports, press kits,
announcements, program updates and any relevant documents will be available at the Media Center.


Dress Code

No jeans/maong pants and shorts

No sando shirts

No slippers or flip-flops

No collarless t-shirts


TECHNICAL INFORMATION (for TV)

• To obtain the video and audio feeds of plenary sessions, please see any Media Relations Officer.


MEDIA GUIDELINES AND ACCESS TO SESSIONS

• All plenary sessions are open to the media. A designated seating area will be allocated for media but close access to VIPs shall not be permitted.

• Interviews are not allowed to be conducted along corridors or public access areas at the event venue. Media Relations personnel will assist you for your request for interviews

• Members of Media are requested to refrain from asking questions during all sessions/workshops so as not to disrupt the sessions. Speakers and discussants will be brought to the Media room for a press conference immediately after each plenary session.
