| The Department of Energy conducted its first DONORS’ FORUM on 15 February 2011 which has elicited positive response from donor community, international funding agencies and embassies, and representatives from the academe. The forum was envisioned to strengthen ties between prospective investors and the agency in extending support to the energy sector. With the expressions of support and enthusiasm demonstrated by the participants from the donor community, the DOE is even more inspired to initiate it as an annual event for strengthening linkages towards addressing challenges in the country’s priority areas for much needed assistance in the realm of renewable energy, energy efficiency, power, alternative fuels for transport and energy policy and planning. Secretary Almendras has actively stewarded this initiative. |
