The Department of Energy promotes the use of LPG under the program (Autogas) as alternative transport fuels, which aims to diversify the country's fuel sources while providing solutions to air pollution caused by vehicular emission.

STANDARDS

The Department of Energy and Department of Trade and Industry-Bureau of Product Standards in cooperation with other concerned agencies, private sectors and Technical Comittees on Cylinders, Road Vehicles and Refueling Stations has developed 3-sets of standards for the implementation of the Autogas industry.

  1. Road Vehicles - Automotive LPG components - CONTAINERS
  2. Approval of specific equipment of motor vehicles using liquified petroleum gases in their propulsion system and approval of a vehicle fitted with specific equipment for the use of liquified petroleum gases in its propulsion system with regard to the installation of such equipment.
  3. Auto-LPG Dispensing Service Stations
