Natural Gas Quality Forum. DOE Secretary Carlos Jericho L. Petilla addressed the guests and participants of the Natural Gas Quality Forum held on January 30, 2013 at the Fairmont Hotel, Makati City. He emphasized the significant role of natural gas in ensuring energy security and promoting a low-carbon future in response to global calls to mitigate environmental risks in terms of putting up energy facilities and infrastructure.
DOE Secretary Carlos Jericho L. Petilla spoke before the delegates of the first International Electricity Research Exchange-Technological Issues and Solutions (IERE -TIS) Asia Meeting held on January 16, 2013 at Fairmont Hotel. The event hosted by MERALCO served as a venue to exchange information on government policies, projects, and programs related to power, renewable energy, alternative fuels and private initiatives on smart grid applications.
DOE Conducts Energy Investment Forum. The Department of Energy (DOE) through its Investment Promotion Office has successfully completed its Energy Investment Forum on December 06, 2012 at F1 Hotel in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. In its eighth year, this annual gathering gathered a total of 209 participants of investors and energy stakeholders.
Energy Sec. Petilla led the Ceremonial Switch-on of Solar-Powered LED Lighting System for 223 Households in Off-Grid Areas during the 2012 National Energy Consciousness Month Opening Ceremony with Partners TEAM Energy Foundation, Inc. represented by its Executive Director, Mr. Roderick F. de Castro. Together with the Secretary are Atty. Rohima S. Sarra, General Manager (GM) of Palawan Electric Cooperative, Inc., Mayor Jonathan Tan of Pandan, Antique, Usec. Loreta G. Ayson, and Mr. Chito R. Peralta, GM of Aklan Electric Cooperative, Inc.
The Department of Energy graciously welcomed its new Secretary, Carlos Jericho L. Petilla in a turnover ceremony held on November 12, 2012 following the joint Energy Family flag raising ceremony at the DOE multi-purpose gym. It was attended by the different attached agencies and partner entity, namely: the Philippine National Oil Company and its subsidiaries, National Power Corporation, National Electrification Administration, Power Sector Assets & Liabilities Management Corp., and the Philippine Electricity Market Corp.

Areas with investment prospects are segregated geographically according to resource with the corresponding estimated cost requirements for easy reference.
